I am Luca Colling

In 2020, the Covid-Pandemic hit the world and it seemed everything changed for the worst, but there was a glimpse of hope, a glimpse of light and so it struck me...bike-packing. For my 18th birthday, I cycled to Copenhagen, a small 10 day trip, that would change my mind on cycling forever.

After my graduation from highschool, I undertook the challenge to cycle to the Northcape, obviously with no experience on multi-week travels, overloaded but motivated #NorthCape2022 was only the start.

But why? - Why do you torture yourself for hours cycling over hill and dale in the rain or spend the night in whipping wind in the nature? It's a mixture of adventure and freedom. Out here I am free and leave everyday life behind me. All duties, appointments and worries stay at home. Out here I can let my soul dangle or really let off steam. Anyone who has spent a few days or even hours in nature knows how relaxing it can be. Just the sound of the trees rustling in the wind, the babbling of a river or the crackling of a campfire.

As a prospective historian and local politician I want to educate people more about the history and geopolitics of the countries my adventures take me, all while enjoying the challenge.
