Facts

In Ivory Coast, 2 million children are not enrolled in school because the country lacks schools. The available classrooms are overcrowded, with some holding more than 80 children.

The country is facing a serious waste management crisis. In the capital city of Abidjan alone, 288 tonnes of plastic waste are produced every day, of which only 5% is recycled. This waste piles up in the streets, playgrounds, rivers and green areas, having a huge impact on the health of children and their families. 60% of cases of malaria, pneumonia and diarrhoea are directly linked to this poor waste management.

Education is what most people receive, many pass on and few have.

Karl Kraus

Help me support UNICEF Luxembourg with the Project "Conceptos Plasticos", a purpose-driven project dedicated to improving access to quality education for children in Ivory Coast, while recycling plastic and make the schools more sustainable.

Together, we have a great opportunity to make a real and lasting difference in the lives of children around the world, and I hope you'll join me.
